I love to take pictures but I am by no means a professional photographer. Perhaps some day I will take it more seriously. There are a lot of great jobs in photography out there, but I don’t know if I will ever have one. I think I might stick to writing, but if you are into taking pictures, you may want to consider it for a career. There are some fun and interesting jobs out there, and photography is one of them. In fact, there are many people who get bored with their nine to five careers and start off on a whole new journey in an artsy career like photography. I have known a friend who had decided to go on a vacation, started taking pictures with his camera, and found out that he can make a business out of traveling pictures. When you first start out, you may not know where to look for jobs in photography. I have to admit that I wouldn’t know where to start either at first, but because I am a freelance writer, I have a better idea than I would have had a few years ago. Most of the first jobs in photography you might want will be freelance, and they will help you not only get a feel for what clients want, it also helps you build up a portfolio to help you get better jobs in the future. You might even want to do some charity work in your community to build up your samples and you reputation. Freelance jobs in photography can be just about anything. People in all sorts of situations need photos. You could work on a project for a business; you may want to take wedding photos. What jobs in photography you choose at first may guide the rest of your career. If you really don’t want to be a wedding photographer, you may want to skip those jobs unless you badly need the money. Don’t forget to focus on what you really want to do, and don’t let jobs to pay the bills veer you from your course. You can find good freelance jobs in photography by searching the Internet. There are sites out there devoted to freelance jobs, and the majority of them are writing or photography freelance assignments. You may have to apply for many jobs in photography before the first one pops up, but once you get going you will find it easier and easier to find work. Start building up your skills as a professional photographer and your work will no longer be a job. It truly does pay to keep on it and to never give up. Once you have a good reputation, the jobs may end up coming to you. |
